Systemic Functional Linguistics in the Age of International Publication: A Review of 2025 Annual Conference of M.A.K.Halliday Studies & CMC Symposium

Abstract

The 2025 Annual Conference of M.A.K.Halliday Studies & CMC Symposium was successfully held in Guangzhou from November 14 to 16, 2025. Adopting a hybrid online-offline format, the event brought together over one hundred scholars of systemic functional linguistics from around the world. With the theme “Systemic Functional Linguistics in the Age of International Publication”, the conference featured 16 keynote presentations by distinguished scholars from China and abroad.These presentations facilitated indepth discussions on the theoretical development and interdisciplinary applications of systemic functional linguistics, establishing a vital academic platform for advancing global academic collaboration and promoting the international publication of scholarly achievements.
